Data Analysis / Top Line Assessment

In qualitative research, the method of questioning is largely open ended and is in a form of a discussion, where the respondent’s feedback may not be in the order of the questions present in the discussion guide. More so, in qualitative research, the respondent tends to deviate/hover around/be verbose in his response due to which the researcher has to look through the entire transcript to find the content pertinent to the research. Also, the researcher needs to compare the responses across multiple respondents in order to draw out data-patterns which is a hard task to accomplish with qualitative transcripts.

Content Analysis proves as a handy tool to overcome all of these problems. It is a tabulated form of the qualitative transcript where the crux of all responses is written in an organized and condensed format.
